Janie Villarreal, 75, of Waxahachie, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at Charlton Methodist Medical Center. She was born Aug. 29, 1937 in Waxahachie to Tomas and Refugia (Sanchez) Ortiz. She was a member of the Water Street Baptist Church and loved to cook and crochet. Janie was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include three sons: Jose Villarreal, Thomas Villarreal and wife, Cathy, and James Villarreal and wife, Laura; one daughter, Berta Garcia and husband, Juan, all of Waxahachie; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Mary Longoria of Waxahachie and Jessie Salas of Marietta, Ga. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Janie was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Villarreal; and one son, Oscar Villarreal.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, in the chapel of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, in the chapel of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home with Pastor James Southard and Pastor George Solis officiating. Interment will follow at the Waxahachie City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Garcia, Jose Villarreal III, Jody Villarreal, Matthew Villarreal, Thomas Jose Villarreal, Bill Story III, Jake Villarreal and Jesse Garcia.
