RED OAK – A fire that totally destroyed a travel trailer Wednesday night was ruled as accidental by the Ellis County Fire Marshal’s Office.
The fire department took a call to respond to a fire in the 200 block of Spring Circle at 8:30 p.m.
Assistant Ellis County Fire Marshal Joshua Hibschman said the travel trailer is considered to be a total loss and estimates the property and content loss at $5,000. The occupant of the travel trailer was not home at the time of the fire. The Red Cross was called out to provide assistance to the occupant.
Responding to the call were members of the Red Oak and Ovilla Fire Departments. Firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading and contained to the travel trailer.
No other structures were damaged.
Units cleared the scene at around 9:30 p.m.
