Waxahachie Police officers took Edward Franklin Keel, 52, of Waxahachie into custody on Dec. 3 on charges of driving while intoxicated, intoxication assault and leaving the scene of an accident with injury.
Keel was arrested at 11:30 p.m.
“The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle accident in the 200 block of east Parks Street. A 19-year-old female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle that left the scene. She was transported to Baylor Medical Center at Waxahachie with injuries. She has since been treated and released,” Waxahachie Police Department Lt. Todd Woodruff said.
“Soon after, our officers located the suspect vehicle traveling in the 600 block of Oldham and arrested Keel, the driver, after their investigation.”
Keel was booked into the Wayne McCollum Detention Center at 3:25 a.m. Tuesday Dec. 4.
He was arraigned on charges of accident involving serious bodily injury/death with a bond set of $20,000, intoxicated assault with a vehicle with a bond set of $20,000 and on a separate charge of driving while intoxicated with a bond for that charge set t $4,000.
Keel remains in custody at the detention center.
