Betty Jo Loyd, 76, of Waxahachie passed away Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, in Red Oak, Texas. She was born Aug. 27, 1935 in Ellis County to Clyde and Margaret Paul Keenom. Betty was a lifelong resident of Ellis County. She worked for Baylor Hospital for 37 years until her retirement, and she was a longtime member of Ferris Heights United Methodist Church. Betty was a Girl Scout leader for many years and was a mom and grandma to many children in Waxahachie. She will be dearly missed by her family and all that knew and loved her.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Tressia and Joseph Valenti of Avon, Ohio, and Margaret and Michael Gant of Forreston, Texas; three sisters: Mary Ann and Billy Fikes of Arlington, Texas, Edna Snider of Mansfield, Texas and Margaret Lee of Alvarado, Texas; four grandchildren: Joseph Valenti II, Gianna Valenti, Carlie Jo Gant-Miller and Kimen Rae Gant; and one great-grandchild: Kylie Rae Miller; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Loyd and three brothers: Robert, Arthur and Walter Keenom.
Services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with the Rev. Carol Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at the Forreston Cemetery in Forreston, Texas.
Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
