Any week in an Audi is a good week.

Having the opportunity to spend a week behind the wheel of the 2013 Audi S4 quattro sedan provided for a great week of driving. I really dread having to give it back on Monday.

The S4 ó the performance version of the Audi A4, is an absolute gem of an automobile, combining stellar performance, outstanding handling and top tier luxury in one package.

Under the bonnet, the S4 is powered by a supercharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine producing 333 horsepower and 325 lbs.-ft. torque capable of propelling the 3,935-pound sedan to a 0-60 mph time of 4.9 seconds ó or an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph.

Itís quick.

Equipped with Audiís quattro all-wheel drive system, it is also one of the best handling vehicles on the road.

Mated to a six-speed manual transmission (S4 buyers may also opt for the seven speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission), the S4 is an absolute blast to drive.

For the 2013 model year both the A4 and the S4 receive enhancements, including a new grille, reconfigured bumpers, new headlamps and LED daytime running lights.

Other changes include the addition of optional static halogen corning lamps to make the adaptive front lighting system even more illuminating for the driver.

Interior changes include a new optional three-spoke steering wheel with a flat bottom, the addition of new high-gloss piano black finish paired with stainless steel mesh inlays paired with inlays made of Beaufort oak.

Thereís also the option of fine Nappa leather.

And it is also loaded with safety features and it has earned the National Highway Traffic Safety Administrationís top 5-Star designation for crashworthiness and rollover safety.

In addition to adaptive cruise control ó which measures the distance of the vehicles ahead and sends data to a computer that weighs the information against velocity and other road variables and applies the brakes as necessary without having to take the car off of cruise control. Once the road is safe to cruise, the system takes the vehicle back to its programmed speed ó the S4 is also available with Audi parking system plus, as well as Audi connect.

Audi Connect is the onboard MMI navigation system featuring a true aerial view of the route and surrounding area. It also features real-time local weather, fuel prices, news and travel information ó all via voice command. I canít believe I almost forgot to mention the 14-speaker, 505-watt Bang & Olufsen sound system.

For those in the market for a luxury sport sedan, the S4 is a must for a test drive.
