HOUSTON – (July 27, 2012) – Each summer, undergraduate students from across the country are selected to take part in the Summer Medical and Research Training Program (SMART) at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston (http://www.bcm.edu/smart).
The nine-week employment/educational program for students interested in exploring a career in scientific research pairs undergraduate students with BCM mentors to conduct biomedical research in a broad range of areas. Students also attend daily seminars that span the spectrum of biomedical research and GRE preparation workshops and participate in various career development activities.
Ugochi Mba from Waxahachie is taking part in the program this year.
This year, 86 students from across the nation are taking part in the program.
