On July 23, at approximately 11:03 a.m. the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a possible deceased person in a wooded area around the 1400 block of Black Champ Road in the unincorporated area of Ellis County.
Deputies were dispatched to the location and upon arrival located a deceased person lying in a heavily wooded area.
The area was secured as a crime scene. Investigators arrived and began a cursory investigation at the scene.
The deceased person is a female and is believed to have been at the location less than one week.
She is approximately 5-feet, 4-inches inches tall and weighing approximately 115 pounds. She is believed to be of African-American heritage. She was wearing a black or dark gray tank top, blue jean shorts and white Nike tennis shoes with purple shoe laces.
The investigation led deputies to believe the female suffered fatal trauma at a location other than where she was found.
She is believed to have been put in the wooded area in hope of secreting her from discovery. The preliminary investigation leads to a connection with Dallas.
The Ellis County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information regarding the identification of this person. Any person who may have information regarding her identity is requested to contact Investigator Joe Fitzgerald at 972-825-4928.
